JEFF BIRMINGHAM PE
CEO
CEO Jeff Birmingham, a Registered Professional Engineer and 5th generation railroader, founded Railroad Software in 2012 following three principal tenants:
- Hire only the most experienced rail and rail yard experts
- Provide customers with accurate, real-time, accessible data via dashboards and reports
- Continuously review and improve products to meet ever-changing regulatory requirements
Railroad Software’s first product to be developed, Rail Terminal Management System (RTMS), was successfully launched in 2013. Recognized and lauded as a game-changing solution in a mature market, RTMS quickly attracted the attention of the railroad industry, and as a result, the company has experienced rapid growth year over year.
Railroad Software’s most recent product suite of solutions is designed to revolutionize human and rail asset compliance. The “Track” suite of products assists in the management of assets, compliance, and employee hours of service, and includes:
- TrackAsset – captures the monitoring of rail signals, switches, and track.
- TrackHours of Service (HoS) – timekeeping system and record keeping
Prior to founding Railroad Software, Mr. Birmingham worked as a technical project manager and the engineer of record (EoR) on many multinational engineering projects for various commercial transportation clients.
Along with his engineering background, Mr. Birmingham has been a lifelong railroader helping his family operate a large rail yard storage and transloading facility in Colorado. With railroading, technology, and service in his blood, he is committed to maintaining Railroad Software’s reputation as the premier provider of highly advanced, simple to use products, and unbeatable service to the rail industry by rail industry experts.
Jeff, as the thought leader for the company, has the vision to be the provider of proactive solutions for the rail industry.


NATHAN SHIRHALL
CTO
Nate Shirhall, Chief Technology Officer, has been an integral part of Railroad Software since 2015 bringing with him more than a decade of experience developing and managing data environments within large financial institutions. Mr. Shirhall believes that the core goal in product development is to provide software solutions that are streamlined and intuitive. It is this belief coupled with his outstanding background in data accuracy, system productivity, and data visibility that have made him invaluable to the growth and development of the company.
Prior to joining Railroad Software, Mr. Shirhall managed enterprise environments through data analysis, design, testing, integration, and transition of business applications and data processing. He was responsible for implementing and maintaining a PCI/DSS compliant security program; participated in both internal and external audits for NCUA and FDIC; and designed and implemented business continuity and disaster recovery programs. In 2010, he was responsible for the technical integration of the largest credit union merger in US history.
Currently, Mr. Shirhall is leading Railroad Software’s development of a new product suite of solutions designed to revolutionize human and rail asset compliance. This “Track” suite of products is designed to assist rail yards in the management of their assets, regulatory compliance, and tracking of employee hours of service. Mr. Shirhall’s experience in data management and reporting provides the backbone for Railroad Software’s ongoing success in this development.

TIM ELSBERRY
VICE PRESIDENT - BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Tim Elsberry has been a part of Railroad Software since May 2019. He holds a certificate from the Institute of Asset Management. Mr. Elsberry’s knowledge and experience in the industry brings tremendous value to Railroad Software’s current and future customers. Mr. Elsberry’s previous work experience and contacts have led to a successful transition to his new role as the Vice President of Business Development.
Mr. Elsberry began his career in December 1978 with what would later become CSX. He has served in roles such as Track Maintainer, Crankhand, Foreman, Assistant Foreman and Track Inspector.
In October 1988, Elsberry started at Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA), where he began as Track Maintainer and most recently served as Director, Maintenance of Way.
Following more than 30 years at MARTA, Elsberry is specialized in track, structural, train control, infrastructure, inspection, maintenance, enterprise asset management and electrical power assets.
Mr. Elsberry is fully committed to bringing customers the best applications to ensure better processes and efficiency for every need with personalized service.


Abdul Wahidh
Manager of Development
Mr. Wahidh started with Railroad Software in 2014. Since joining the company, he has worked diligently to lead the development team on a day to day basis. His responsibilities include assisting team members with job duties, communicating and delegating assignments as well putting strategic plans in place to meet customer deadlines.
Mr. Wahidh’s work has included integrating features for a user-friendly design and an intuitive structure. His 8 years of experience designing applications has served as a tremendous asset to Railroad Software. Mr. Wahidh has played an integral role in managing the day to day development and implementation items. As Railroad Software has grown, Mr. Wahidh has grown managed to meet customer’s expected deadlines for product implementation and updates consistently.


Anthony Giamboy
Product Manager
Mr. Giamboy joined Railroad Software in 2019 after spending the previous 4 years working as a project manager and account manager in the communication industry. His customer first approach has made his transition to Railroad Software seamless. Mr. Giamboy has worked with many of Railroad Software’s customers on implementation and overall operations. He is responsible for creating wireframes and mock-ups for new development items, testing and creating user stories, demonstrating new features to clients, and collaborating with internal teams, engineers, and stakeholders.
In addition to these tasks, Mr. Giamboy is also assigned the responsibility of maintaining the long-term roadmap for the TrackAsset application. His work to prioritize key features and specifications has ensured customers deadlines are met and the satisfaction of the client is high throughout the implementation process.
